KSA, China ink deal for peaceful use of nuclear technology

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi King Salman and the Chinese President Xi Jinping signed 14 agreements on the sidelines of the King’s visit to China.

The most prominent deal inked was a cooperation agreement regarding the peaceful use of nuclear technology, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was also inked in the field of uranium and thorium deposits, adding to a deal to conduct a feasibility study for the project of a high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) in the Kingdom.

The two countries also signed an MoU to finance and establish the container station and infrastructure of the logistics centre of Yanbu Industrial City, the SPA reported.

Another MoU was also inked for the Kingdom's participation in China's mission Chang'e-4 to explore the moon, adding to a cooperation agreement between King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and Chinese CASA Company Li Vanbe to manufacture pilotless aircrafts.
