Cairo – Mubasher: Suez Canal Bank said Sunday that its profits before tax rose 151.5% to EGP 393.2 million in fiscal year 2016, from EGP 156.3 million for FY15.

Net profits for FY16 amounted to EGP 209.6 million, compared to EGP 156.3 million for FY15, according to a bourse statement.

The bank recorded a surplus of EGP 210 million; the first surplus in 12 years.

Foreign exchange losses amounted to EGP 100.15 million in 2016, another statement said.
