Industrials, banks boost Bahrain Bourse at Sunday’s close

Mubasher: The Bahrain Bourse’s (BHB) benchmark index closed Sunday’s trading session on a positive note, rising 0.22% or 3 points to 1,378.55 points.

Three sectors helped boost the index, led by industrials with 1.6% as Aluminum Bahrain (Alba) gained 1.66%, while the banking sector increased 0.31% on the back of three stocks, led by Ahli United Bank (AUB) as the market’s biggest gainer with 3.68%.

The services sector edged up 0.01% after Nas Corporation added 0.79%.

On the flipside, the investment sector was the sole decliner, shedding 0.17% after the Arab Banking Corporation (ABC) lost 1.37%.

Traded volume surged to 12.68 million shares compared to Thursday’s 3.21 million, while turnover increased to BHD 2.3 million from BHD 983,670 in the previous session.

Ithmaar’s stock was the most active in terms of traded volume with 6.34 million shares, making up nearly 50% of the market’s total trades, while AUB was the value leader on Sunday.
