Dubai – Mubasher: The Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) will be held in Dubai from 2 to 4 April 2017 to discuss the role of free zones in encouraging competitive economy, according to a statement.

The meeting aims to encourage international investments and enhance cooperation between countries.

Dubai is ranked as the world's leading Islamic economy in terms of enabling free zone city, followed by Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru in Malaysia, and Manama in Bahrain.

Free zones contributed $55 billion to the Islamic economy in 2015, valued at $1.9 trillion, with expectations that this number will increase to $117 billion by 2021, according to a report by Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) in collaboration with Thomson
