Oil, gas, financial services drag Kuwait bourse at Monday's close

Kuwait – Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait indices ended Monday in the red, after its indices fell collectively, with the price index losing 0.12% or 8.25 points to 7,032.26 points, while the weighted index and Kuwait 15 index shed 0.17% and 0.30%, respectively.

The insurance sector led losers, sliding 2.97%, followed by oil and gas with 2.4% as Burgan Drilling "Abar" dropped 5.32%.

The financial services sector declined 0.72% as Al Madina for Finance and Investment retreated 7.02%.

Turnover was down to KWD 26.91 million on Monday from Sunday's KWD 29.44 million, while traded volume declined to 263.42 million shares compared to 296.11 million in the previous session.

Sokouk Holdings' share, up 3.13%, was the most active in terms of volumes after 27.6 million shares changed hands, while Ahli United Bank (AUB), stable at 265 fils, was the value leader with KWD 4.2 million.

Earlier on Monday, the bourse's indices opened on a mixed note with the price index falling 0.42%, while the weighted index and Kuwait 15 index edged up 0.14% and 0.02%, respectively.
