DP World Sokhna to start receiving passenger ships in October

Cairo – Mubasher: Sokhna port at the Red Sea will receive the first passengers’ sea trip in October, CEO of DP World Sokhna said.

Ajay Singh added that his company soigned an agreement with a global firm to organize touristic sea trips within a year.

On the sidelines of a conference on Monday, that the contracted company has put a one-year schedule for the touristic tours, including receiving one ship weekly at least.

Singh pinpointed that DP World has invested around $1 billion since acquiring the port on 2008, including the acquisition value.

DP World Sokhna’s market share increased 1% to 18.3% in 2016 from 17.8% in 2015.

DP World Sokhna is a part of the DP World's international network, a network that currently encompasses 60 terminals across 31 countries. The company is located just below the southern entrance to the Suez Canal, on the Red Sea, according to the company’s website.
