Cairo - Mubasher: The chairman and managing director of Misr for Central Clearing, Depository and Registry (MCDR) said that the company has issued 24,000 electronic signatures since the service was activated.
Mohamed Abdel Salam added in his speech to the Capital Market and Economic Reform Financing Conference that the number is still low in comparison to the target, noting that it remains optional for investors and not obligatory.
Meanwhile, the minister of public works sector, Ashraf El Sharkawi, said that when companies were obliged to use e-signatures, there was huge resistance, despite its many benefits.
