Cairo – Mubasher: The General Authority for Investment (GAFI) said it approved the establishment of 1,741 companies with combined investments of EGP 3.6 billion during March, according to a report.

The companies’ total combined capital amounted to EGP 3.2 billion, according to GAFI.

Capital owned by Arab and foreign investors amounted to EGP 294 million and EGP 89 million, or 8.1% and 2.5% of the total capital, respectively.

The number of companies operating in the industrial sector reached 596 companies, representing 34.2% of the total capital.        

Multi-industry companies reached 563 companies, while 420 companies were established in the services sector representing 32.3% and 24.1% of the total number of companies, respectively.
