Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has carried major reforms and its programme has been” very courageous, according to the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) head Christine Lagarde.

The country should continue implementing other reforms, with a special focus on inflation, she added during a press conference held on the sidelines of spring meetings commenced this week in Washington.

Egypt’s inflation rose year-on-year to register 32.55% in March 2017, according to Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The country's program is the second largest financial program that the IMF has at the moment.

“It is critically important that the Egyptian authorities and the Egyptian people actually endorse the proposals there in order to take the economy forward,” she added.
