GE plans long-term investments in Egypt

Cairo - Mubasher: The vice chairman of General Electric (GE) said that his company is planning a long-term investment strategy in Egypt, stressing the importance of the Egyptian market and the promising opportunities it is offering.

According to a statement by the Egyptian ministry of investment and international cooperation, John Rice added after his meeting with minister Sahar Nasr, who is leading the Egyptian delegation to the World Bank spring meetings in Washington, that GE aims at investing in renewable energy in Egypt by developing solar and wind energy projects.

The two sides discussed the latest offers by GE to help in renewing the Egyptian railways, by providing 100 to 200 carts, with 35% of the manufacturing to be carried out in Egypt.
