EGX opens mixed; benchmark loses 0.41%

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened on a mixed note on Sunday, amid sales by Egyptian and Arab investors and foreign purchases.

By 10:04 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index declined 0.41% or 53 points to the level of 12,852.6 points. The EGX70 grew 0.36% to 593 points.

Meanwhile, the EGX100 and EGX50 indices declined 0.17% and 0.53%, respectively.

Trading volume reached 17.2 million shares exchanged at EGP 60.6 million through 2,900 transactions.

Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers by EGP 1.3 million and EGP 295,000, respectively, while net purchases by foreign investors amounted to EGP 1.6 million.

Cairo Oils and Soap fell 4.4%, AMOC shrank 3.82%, and Madinet Nasr Housing dropped 2.3%.

Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) retreated 1.07% to EGP 75.9.

On the other hand, National Real Estate Bank for Development rose 2.1%, HADISOLB advanced 1.89%, and Orascom Construction levelled up 1.66%.
