EAEF plans to increase investments in Egypt

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian-American Enterprise Fund (EAEF) is looking to raise its investments in Egypt, the fund's chairman James Harmon said.

The EAEF is part of the $300 million US financial assistance to Egypt and aims to support entrepreneurs and small businesses, Harmon noted according to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation.

Harmon met the Egyptian minister of investment and international cooperation, Sahar Nasr, as she led Egypt’s delegation during the World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington.

The fund invested $20 million in Fawry, an Egyptian electronic payment network, $56.1 million in Sarwa Capital, $1.2 million in SmartCare, $10 million in Tanmeyah Capital, and $10 million in Algebra Ventures.
