QSE ends Sunday down; real estate, banks weigh

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Sunday’s trading session 0.43% or 44.28 points lower, reaching 10,197.33 points.

Traded volume dropped to 6.8 million shares on Sunday against 11.57 million shares on Thursday, while trading value decreased to QAR 153.46 million against QAR 274.11 million.

The industrials sector led losers with 0.64% as Industries Qatar lost 1.75%.

The real estate sector shed 0.4% after Barwa Real Estate and Ezdan Holding Group tumbled 0.57% and 0.32%, respectively.

The banks sector levelled down 0.35% as Qatar First Bank (QFB), Doha Bank, and Al Khalij Commercial Bank went down 2.28%, 1.12%, and 0.82%, respectively.

The telecoms sector edged down 0.21% as Vodafone Qatar lost 1.24%.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock led in terms of trading volume and value with 2.513 million shares exchanged at a value of QAR 24.075 million.
