Mubasher: The benchmark price index of Boursa Kuwait closed Thursday’s trading session 0.22% or 14.4 points higher at 6,633.07 points, while the weighted index retreated 0.35%.

The consumer services segment topped five gainers with 1.01%, backed by Jiyad, Jazeera Airways, and Alrai Media which rose by 5.2%, 4.9%, and 1.7%, respectively.

The real estate segment edged up 0.87%, backed by Munshaat which rose 6.3%, while the financial services sector went up 0.46% in line with the 15% growth of Tahssilat which was the market's top winner.

Meanwhile, the insurance segment led six decliners with 1.25%, dragged by Warba Insurance and First Takaful which lost 10.2% and 2.2%, respectively.

Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity shrank by 3% to KWD 13.58 million on Thursday compared to KWD 14 million in the previous session, after the trading volume decreased by 11.3% to 76.8 million shares compared to 86.59 million.

Sokouk, up 5.06%, was the most active stock on which 7.04 million shares were traded.

Zain, down 0.29%, recorded the highest turnover of KWD 2.25 million.
