Natural gas prices fall to lowest since February

Mubasher: Natural gas prices fell in Thursday's trade, 14 December, to their lowest level in more than nine months in anticipation of announcing natural gas inventories within the last week, with expectation of high supplies.

By 12:55 pm GMT, natural gas futures contracts declined 1.8% to $2.667 per million British thermal units (mmBtu), touching an all-time low since 24 February trade closing.

Last week, Energy Information Administration (EIA) data showed that natural gas inventories rose to 3,695 billion cubic feet in the week ended Friday, 1 December, beating expectations.

Analysts last forecast that natural gas inventories would drop by seven billion cubic feet.
