Eurozone current account surplus rises in November

Mubasher: The Eurozone’s current account surplus widened more than forecasts in November, data released by the European Central bank (ECB) on Friday showed.

Surplus reached EUR 32.5 billion in November, up from EUR 30.3 billion in October. Economists had expected a EUR 31.3 billion surplus during the month.

The Current account’s surplus to gross domestic product (GDP) ratio over the twelve months ended 30 November remained unchanged at 3.5%.

The euro last grew 0.34% against the US dollar to $1.2279.
