Mubasher: A survey conducted by NBC and Wall Street Journal (WSJ) found that the US president’s Donald Trump’s approval rate fell sharply during his first year, marking the lowest among all modern US presidents.

The poll showed that Trump’s administration is only approved by 39% of respondents, while 51% said they are strongly dissatisfied with the US president’s performance over the first year of his term.

The survey, which included 900 citizens and conducted between 13 and 17 January, came after Trump’s usage of vulgar terms to describe immigrants from Haiti and African Countries, and amid growing fears over the potential US government shutdown and the congress’s stumble over the funding bill.

In February, 44% of people polled by NBC and WSJ showed an approval towards the president's performance, while 48% disapproved.
