Mubasher: The price of Kuwaiti oil increased on Tuesday by 18 cents to close the session at $61.42 per barrel (pb) from Monday's closing at $61.24 pb, data released by the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) showed.

Globally, oil prices have been on the rise for the past two weeks, boosted by lower supply from Canada's Keystone pipeline and amid a fluctuating dollar.

Investors are awaiting US oil stockpile data due on Thursday.

The dollar, last up 0.13% to 89.829, is likely to put pressure on oil prices.

By 6:12 am GMT, Brent crude fell 0.78% to $64.74 pb, while US crude Nymex dropped 1.02% to $61.16.
