Qatar to invest $15bn in troubled Turkey
Tamim and Erdogan discussed bilateral relations and regional matters

Mubasher: Qatar will pump investments of $15 billion in Turkey across a number of projects, as announced by Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani during his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The two leaders discussed bilateral relations, and regional matters, according to a statement by the Turkish presidency.

Currency depreciation and a surge in inflation rates recently rose concerns about the Turkish economies, as the United States is set to sanction Turkey due to a diplomatic rift between Washington and Ankara.

The lira rose by more than 5% against the US dollar on Tuesday, with the USD/TRY pair now trading at 6.036.
