World Government Summit kicks off in Dubai on Sunday
Participants included thousands of high-level officials, including presidents, ministers and Nobel Laureates

Dubai – Mubasher: The seventh World Government Summit kicked off in Dubai on Sunday morning with the participation of more than 4,000 people from 140 countries.

Participants, included thousands of high-level officials, including presidents, ministers and Nobel Laureates, will discuss “shaping the future of governments”.

“The human being is the centre of the World Government Summit. Our main aim is to foresee the future of different sectors to improve humanity,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE's vice president, prime minister, and Dubai's ruler, said.

He added that this large summit, ending 12 February, will unite efforts and ideas to reinforce people’s wellbeing.

“We have the fundamental opportunity to create dialogue and reflect on how to develop governments to achieve prosperity for people,” Al Maktoum pointed out.

During the summit, the UAE seeks to lead the world to dialogue in technology, future, health and quality of life.

The summit, which will take place at Madinat Jumeirah, will include 600 speakers ranging from heads of states, top thinkers, leaders and delegates in addition to 30 international organisations.

Up to 20 reports with the latest figures, studies and data will be published during the summit to help decision-makers and officials formulate future strategies.

“Dynamic governments seek to learn and adopt an approach to development and innovation. Hosting this global gathering emphasises the UAE’s regional and international position in establishing a pioneering government model,” Al Maktoum stated.
