Mubasher: China is willing to engage in more talks as soon as the end of October to forge the terms of the “phase one” trade deal before Chinese President Xi Jinping agrees to sign it, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.

China could send a delegation led by Vice Premier Liu He to conclude a written pact that could be signed by President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit next month in Chile, one of the sources told the news outlet.

In addition, Beijing wants the White House to drop a scheduled tariff increase next December as well as the hike slated this week, which was not endorsed yet by the Trump administration.
