UAE stock markets fall on Wednesday; Tadawul, EGX show upward trend

Mubasher: The main index DFMGI of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) as well as FADGI, the benchmark index of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), closed Wednesday’s session with a negative performance.

As for the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul), both the main market’s All Share Index (TASI) and the Parallel Market Capped Index (NomuC) ended the session in the green zone.

Similarly, the indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed higher.

UAE Stock Markets

DFMGI dropped 7.19 points (0.17%) to close at 4,070.54 points. The trading value totalled AED 364.81 million through the exchange of 382.80 million shares.

Dubai Investments led the fallers with 2%, while Ekttitab Holding topped the risers with 14.72%.

Emaar Properties maintained the highest turnover of AED 55.82 million, whereas Ithmaar Holding acquired the biggest trading volume with 93.17 million shares.

Likewise, FADGI decreased by 0.36% to close the session at 9,953.19 points.

The turnover hit AED 1.21 billion after 286.71 million shares were exchanged, while the market cap value reached AED 2.88 trillion.

Sharjah Cement and Industrial Development Company was the top faller with 2.92%, while Abu Dhabi National Company for Building Materials (Bildco) advanced the risers with 14.92%.

International Holding Company (IHC) witnessed the largest trading value of AED 216.87 million. Meanwhile, Borouge posted the highest volume of 28.95 million shares.

Saudi Arabian Stock Market

TASI rose by 41.94 points (0.37%) to 11,286.21 points.

Furthermore, the main market’s turnover stood at SAR 6.65 billion after 246.17 million shares were traded.

The transport sector was the top gainer with 1.52%, while the food and beverage (F&B) segment led the decliners with 3.31%.

Gulf Union Alahlia Cooperative Insurance Company advanced the risers with 9.95%, while Savola Group was the top faller with 7.45%.

Al Baha Investment and Development Company dominated the biggest trading volume with 49.39 million shares, whereas Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) recorded the highest value of SAR 489.65 million.

Similarly, NomuC ended the session higher by 162.71 points (0.69%) at 23,702.46 points.

Gas Arabian Services Company led the risers with 15.35%, while National Building and Marketing Company was the top loser with 6.12%.

Egyptian Stock Market

The EGX30 main index went up by 0.08% to 17,763.63 points.

In addition, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI closed the session higher by 0.07% to 3,592.24 points.

The EGX100 EWI also ended the session with an upward trend at 5,311.28 points after rising by 0.08%.

The turnover totalled EGP 2.36 billion after 750.22 million shares were exchanged, while the market cap value was EGP 1.20 trillion.

As for trading on securities, the foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 58.49 million. Meanwhile, the Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 29.88 million and EGP 28.61 million, respectively.
