Egypt’s central bank auctions EGP 65bn T-bills on Thursday

Cairo - Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) auctioned treasury bills (T-bills) at a total value of EGP 65 billion through two auctions on Thursday, 4 January 2024.

Holding an 182-day maturity period until 9 July 2024, the first tranche was valued at EGP 30 billion.

The second offering stood at EGP 35 billion and will mature in 357 days on 31 December next year, according to official data.

On 31 December 2023, the CBE issued T-bills at an aggregated value of EGP 60 billion through two offerings in addition to T-bills in USD at a value of $830 million.
