Riyadh – Mubasher: The World Economic Forum (WEF) Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development is set to take place in Riyadh on 28 and 29 April 2024.

Held under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the two-day event will attract over 1000 global leaders, including heads of state, government and thought leaders from across the public and private sectors, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The WEF’s special meeting will also bring together key figures from international organisations, academic institutions, and non-government organisations (NGOs) to discuss the most pressing global development challenges.

The WEF Special Meeting sessions aim to foster impactful dialogues, enhance global collaboration, and drive collective international action to address pressing global challenges.

Against the backdrop of widening social and economic gaps, where developed nations surge past pre-pandemic levels while emerging economies strive to catch up, these discussions will focus on devising sustainable solutions.

Central to the Special Meeting are three key themes: Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development.

Within the Global Collaboration theme, discussions will delve into strategies to navigate current geopolitical upheavals and humanitarian crises, particularly in regions like the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Additionally, there will be a concerted effort to foster inclusive dialogues between the Global South and North, aiming for comprehensive and equitable solutions.
