UAE – Mubasher: Air travel giant Emirates has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Tourism Malaysia, Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce.

The three MoUs were signed on the first day of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which is taking place between 6 and 9 May 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The recent agreements reflect Emirates’ commitment to attract more travellers across its network of over 140 destinations to experience the sights, culture and attractions of each destination, as well as supporting travel opportunities for Emirati companies and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Booting tourism in Malaysia

Under the signed MoU, Emirates and Tourism Malaysia will collaborate to promote tourism and increase visitor traffic to Malaysia from the airline’s global network.

Both entities will explore joint advertising and tactical campaigns. Additionally, Emirates will organise familiarisation trips from key markets in the Gulf and the Middle East to Malaysia, aiming to raise awareness and stimulate demand.

Orhan Abbas, Far East Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at Emirates, commented: “For over three decades, we’ve been serving Malaysia with world-class service and industry-leading products, while seamlessly connecting the popular gateway with the rest of the world.”

“We’re excited to collaborate with Tourism Malaysia to help drive more traffic growth into the market by leveraging our extensive global network to generate more opportunities for travellers to explore Malaysia’s rich attractions, unique landmarks, and cultural heritage,” Abbas added.

Cooperation with TGA

Emirates and the TGA will collaborate to enhance Türkiye’s tourist appeal in both new and existing source markets.

This agreement entails joint efforts between Emirates and TGA to promote tourism from key markets across the airline’s global network.

Thierry Aucoc, Europe Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations at Emirates, said: “We’re pleased to partner with the […] TGA, to boost visitor traffic into Türkiye. Through our extensive network and track-record of strong global partnerships, we’re well-placed to support the market’s tourism goals and air connectivity needs.”

“Türkiye is one of the most popular destinations in our network due to its vibrant cultural highlights, world-renowned heritage sites and fantastic gastronomic offerings, we’re confident that our collaborative efforts will inspire more travellers to visit the country and explore its many attractions,” Aucoc noted.

Furthermore, Emirates has partnered with The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) to offer travel services at preferential rates to ADCCI’s employees and members.

Chamber members will receive added benefits under Emirates' Business Rewards program for SMEs. ADCCI will facilitate Emirates in promoting its new products, destination network, and special offers at its events, while the airline will extend marketing promotions to Chamber members across its digital platforms.

Emirates has unveiled the initial lineup of destinations to be served by its A350 aircraft, set to commence service in September 2024. The airline is scheduled to add 10 new A350s to its fleet by 31 March 2025 and intends to operate these state-of-the-art aircraft on routes to nine destinations soon.

Passengers can look forward to experiencing Emirates' newest signature cabin offerings onboard these flights.

The initial 10 Emirates A350 aircraft will feature three cabin classes: 32 next-generation Business Class seats, 21 seats in Premium Economy, and 259 generously spaced Economy Class seats.

Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates Airline, said: “The A350 will be a game-changer for Emirates, enabling us to serve regional points with superior operating efficiency and flexibility across the Middle East and GCC, West Asia and Europe.”

“Flying the A350 to 9 cities in such a short span of time adds more premium cabin options and choice across geographies for our customers, and ensures we maintain our competitive edge and industry-leading position,” Kazim highlighted.
