Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait, has directed the disbursement of EGP 500 million as additional financing for the timely payment of salaries of employees at special funds and accounts across governorates, including recent increases.

Maait stated that special funds and accounts cost the state's treasury around EGP 3.50 billion, according to an official statement.

He added that the rights of the employees of special funds and accounts to promotion are reserved to ensure their professional and social stability.

In April 2024, the National Council of Wages (NCW) in Egypt raised the minimum wage for private sector workers by 71.43% to EGP 6,000 from EGP 3,500.
