Non-Jordanian investments plunge to JOD 27.4m in 10M
The value of shares sold by non-Jordanian investors during October 2014 amounted to JOD 20.1 million, whereas the total value of shares purchased by them stood at JOD 27.8 million, constituting 21.1% of the overall trading value, according to the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE). Therefore, the net of non-Jordanian investments registered a rise of JOD 7.7 million during October 2014. The total value of shares that were bought by non-Jordanian investors reached JOD 292.5 million during the ten-month period ending October 31, 2014, representing 15.9% of the overall trading value, while the value of shares sold by them amounted to JOD 319.9 million. Thus, the net of non-Jordanian investments dropped to JOD 27.4 million, against a rise of JOD 130.3 million during the same ten months of 2013.

Moreover, the total value of the Arab investors sales stood at JOD 197.8million, constituting 61.8% of non-Jordanians total sales, while the value of non-Arab sales reached JOD 122.1million, 38.2% of the total sales by non-Jordanians.

The total value of the Arab investors purchases reached JOD 201.0 million or 68.7% of the overall purchases by non-Jordanians as at October 31, 2014, while the value of non-Arab purchases stood at JOD 91.5million, representing 31.3% of the total purchases.

At the sector level, the non-Jordanian ownership in the market capitalization of listed companies stood at 54.7% for the financial sector, 51.6% for the Industrial sector, and 26.9% for the services sector as at October 31, 2014.

Worth noting, non-Jordanian ownership in Amman-listed companies constituted 49.2% of the total market value in the first ten months of 2014, divided into 36.3% for Arab investors and 12.9% for non-Arab investors.
