Jordan’s Finance Minister Umayya Toukan held a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Shunichi Sakurai on Tuesday, during which they discussed possible means to improve economic and investment cooperation between both countries.

Toukan tackled the financial burdens on the state budget resulting from the disruption in Egyptian gas supplies to Jordan and the influx of Syrian refugees, added to the effect of instability in the region on investment flow to the Kingdom.

It is worth mentioning that the two sides also discussed the grants of Japan to support Jordan’s economic reform programme.
