Japan seeks to boost relations with Jordan
On the sidelines of a reception held to mark Japan’s National Day, celebrating the birthday of Emperor Akihito, Ambassador to Jordan Junichi Kosuge said the Kingdom has a vital role, not only in the region, but also within the international community to achieve regional security and stability, according to the Jordan Times.

Jordan has been an “invaluable” partner of Japan, the Jordan Times cited Kosuge as saying, adding that his country is keen to foster its bilateral relations with Jordan.

This year marks the 60th anniversary since the establishment of Jordanian-Japanese diplomatic ties, ambassador noted, adding that “I am confident that our future relations will flourish more, and Japan looks forward to working with Jordan further for world peace and prosperity.”

Furthermore, Japan promised its constant support in light of the multiple challenges that Jordan faces, according to the Jordan Times.

The two countries inked an agreement under which Japan will provide Jordan with 2.238 billion yen aid for the rehabilitation and expansion of water networks in Balqa Governorate, added to a 200 million yen grant for the support of Japanese small- and medium-sized enterprise products (SMEs) in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
