Amman-Mubasher: Jordan’s industrial production index fell 2.9% in April, according to Jordan’s department of statistics (DoS).
In its monthly report, DoS explained that production contracted due to a drop in output of the manufacturing industries, quarrying industries and electricity at 1.4%, 15% and 5.5%, respectively.
On a yearly basis, however, the industrial production index rose 2.1% in the first quarter of 2015.
The increase is mainly attributed to a growth in output of the manufacturing industries, quarrying industries and electricity at 2.4%, 9.4% and 7.3%, respectively, according to the DoS.
