Jordanian bourse falls 0.93% in Q2 pressured by financials

Amman – Mubasher: Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) showed a negative performance during the second quarter of 2015, as the benchmark index slid 0.93% or 19.79 points to end at 2115.64 points.

Turnover declined in the second quarter o JOD 427.51 million, down from JOD 646.11 million in the first quarter. Traded volume also decreased to 409.75 million shares from 641.62 million shares.

The benchmark was weighed by the financials sector that fell by 2.7%. Meanwhile, industrials and services rose 4.68% and 0.22% in a row.

The market declined most in June, with a slide of 3.11%. It also declined 0.93% in April, but rose 3.22% in May.

The Jordanian market ended the first quarter 1.47% or 31.87 points lower at 2135.43 points.
