Tunis- Mubasher: The benchmark index of Bourse de Tunis offset its early gains on Tuesday, ending 0.42% or 22.83 points lower at 5353.08 points, compared with 5375.91 points on Monday.

Tunindex20 also went down 0.53% to 2284.01 points.

Out of the 77 listed companies, 64 changed hands; 19 moved higher, 28 moved lower, while 17 kept flat.

The market slide was caused by the negative performance of several sectors mainly food and beverage (-1.88%) and consumer staples (-1.48%).

Meanwhile, the market losses were trimmed by the financial services sector that rose 1.15%.

As for stocks, Societe Nouvelle Maison De La Ville De Tunis was the top gainer with a rise by 3.90% to TND 19.69. While Societe D’assurances Salim was the biggest loser with a fall by 4.41%.

Tuesday’s turnover amounted to nearly TND 3.55 million, while traded volume reached 545.8 thousand shares.
