Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) opened Monday in the green, resuming its gains following a short profit-taking break, backed by the real estate, banking and investment sectors.

The DFMGI grew 27.8 points or 0.7% to 4,049.27 points by 10:20am UAE time. Turnover reached AED 107.8 million after 43.44 million shares were exchanged through 897 transactions.

UAE markets will likely continue to see moderate profit-taking on Monday following the “exaggerated” gains seen during previous sessions, analysts told Mubasher.

The real estate sector led the gainers, rising 1.08% as Arabtec and Emaar Properties rose 1.4% and 0.87%, respectively. Other stocks in the sector also performed positively.

The investment sector added 0.62% as Dubai Investments and DFM Company increased 0.36% and 0.5%, respectively. The banking sector gained 0.6% as Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) rose 1.17%.

On the other hand, the transport sector was the only decliner on the DFM, falling 0.31% as Air Arabia lost 0.65%. The telecom sector remained unchanged.

The DFM closed Sunday at a decline, following three successive sessions of gains amid profit-taking on its major stocks, particularly real estate and banks.
