Faisal Islamic Bank profits surge 14% in Q1

Faisal Islamic Bank posted net profits of EGP 196.97 million for the first quarter of 2015, a rise of 14% year-on-year, according to the bank's standalone financial statements.

The lender's revenues increased to EGP 1 billion in Q1, compared with EGP 898.9 million for the same period of 2014.

The Islamic lender earlier said its total assets had surged by 9.8% y-o-y in March, from EGP 47.2 million to EGP 51.9 million compared with the same period of the previous year.

Faisal Islamic Bank is capitalised at EGP 66.8 million, distributed across 13.36 million shares at EGP 5 par value each.
