Petronas engages in Iraqi project
The Malaysian oil and gas giant Petronas has floated a prequalification tender for an Iraqi oil development project.

In cooperation with Iraq’s South Oil Company (SOC), Petronas is presently involved in the development, exploration and production operations for the Garraf Oil Field, according to Construction Week Online.

Furthermore, the work scope includes the construction, completion, design and commissioning of the Garraf Integrated Control Centre (GICC) building, a maintenance workshop, three entrance check points, an annex building, a laboratory, a dining facility building, a Surau, associated infrastructure works, upgrading of existing fire station, and hard and soft landscape works.

Similar turnkey projects must have been carried out by bidders with a $40 million minimum contract for a single project or a cumulative contract value worth $60 million for two projects within the last five years in Iraq or the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Moreover, joint ventures or partners, and consortiums are welcome.
