Iraq’s Planning Minister Salman Ali Al-Jumaili announced that the Ministry has completed its 2015-2018 economic scheme.


According to the Ministry’s official website, Al-Jumaili announced that the program is based on upgrading the standard of living through developing the economy, ensuring consumer protection, improving foreign trade, transit trade and free zones, and reconsidering financial, tax and monetary policies.


The plan aims to encourage the investment in the private sector, and the restructure of state-owned industries through promoting the formation of partnerships between local and foreign investors, he added.


He pointed out that the plan prioritizes boosting the country’s foreign economic and trade relations with the purpose of linking the country’s economy with the global economic system. 


The Minister further noted that the plan also took into consideration the development of economic resources and raising oil and gas production.
