Ahmad Al-Zabin Chief Executive Office of Kuwait's Aviation Lease & Finance Co. (Alafco), a unit of Kuwait Finance House (KFH), said the company won't be affected by the privatization plan of Kuwait Airways.

The company owned 53.7% by KFH and 11.47% by state-run Kuwait Airways

In early November, the national carrier unveiled its intention to offer the strategic partner 35% stake for sale.

"Issuing Sukuk to finance the company's upcoming deals is an available option”, said the company's chief.

Al-Zabin pointed out that the company has been engaged into contracts to buy 18 new aircrafts A350. The new carriers are expected to be delivered by 2017, he added. Alafco currently operates a 50-aircraft fleet three of them owned by KFH the country's largest Islamic lender; it plans to double its fleet in coming years.
