Qatar’s Foreign Ministry announced in a press release issued on Wednesday that Japan and Qatar have reached an agreement on a bilateral tax treaty, KUNA reported.


The deal seeks to clarify the taxation procedures and methods related to cross-border economic and investment activities between both countries as well as avoiding international double taxation. It is also expected to boost further mutual investment and economic ties.

Furthermore, the draft agreement allows the effective exchange of information related to tax matters between the tax authorities, according to KUNA.

Worth noting, the deal will be signed after the two governments complete the necessary internal procedures.
