Kuwaiti exchange runs up weekly losses

Kuwait-Mubasher: The price index of Kuwait’s stock market lost 1.29% or 66.81 points to close at 5,131.56 points by the week ended 11 February as compared to 5,198.37 points in the previous week.

The weighted index also dropped 1.95% or 6.98 points to end the week at 350.36 points from 357.34 points in the past week.

KSX 15 index levelled 1.59% or 13.38 points down to 827.17 points, compared to 840.55 points a week ago.

The market’s liquidity lost 26.7% to reach KWD 60.04 million, compared to KWD 81.92 million.

Trading volume decreased 23.2% to 706.72 million shares from 919.91 million.

Meanwhile, about 17,650 deals were traded as compared to nearly 22,740.

Lastly, a research company said that the market cap dropped KWD 472 million to reach KWD 24.019 billion, compared to KWD 24.491 billion in the past week.
