Libya signs agreements to air from Malta
Media stations broadcasting to Libya will be based in Malta, the head of the Media and Culture Authority Omar Al-Guweri declared last week in talks held between the Maltese government and UN Special Representative Bernardino Leon as well as with the US Ambassador Deborah Jones, the Libya Herald reported.

The Libyan delegation, led by Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thinni, to Malta signed several media agreements with the Maltese Minister for Home Affairs and National Security Emmanuel Mallia. Among such agreements, one to reactivate a radio station, shut down since the revolution, in Malta; another agreement to open an office for the state-owned Watania TV channel on the island.

According to Guweri, Malta and Libya agreed to ease the process for Libyan journalists to go to Malta. Likewise, he expected Maltese reporters to go to Libya to cover its news.
