Saudi stocks down 0.8% hurt by telecoms
The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed in the minus column for the third day in a row, with the benchmark falling 0.8% or 81.70 points to close at 10081.96 pts compared with 10163.66 pts. The index lost 2.25% or 232 pts in these three sessions.
Despite this decline, TASI is still holding position above the 10.000 level.
Hotels was the only sector which headed north today, rising 0.61%. The telecommunications led decliners with a loss of 2.58%, hurt by Mobily which dived 4.16%.
Mobily’s Q3 profit is expected to decline compared to the same quarter of 2013, according to analysts’ average forecasts.
Losers outnumbered gainers by 119 to 33, while the remaining nine stocks kept flat.
Solidarity Takaful was the top gainer, rising 5.57%, followed by Al-Khodari (+2.5%).
On the negative side, Medgulf was the biggest loser, diving 9.74%, followed by Aseer (-5.84%).
