NWC to supply Aramco with water for 25 years
The National Water Co. (NWC) and Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) have concluded a joint agreement, whereby NWC will supply Aramco with processed water in quantities ranging from 11,000-20,000 cubic meters a day, according to Arab News.
Aramco will use the water in its crude oil processing operations at Riyadh refinery as of the end of 2016 for a period of 25 years.
Dr. Luai Al-Muslam, chief executive of NWC, said his company has signed a series of agreements for the sale of treated water to companies for periods extending over 20 years with contractual values exceeding SAR 4.9 billion.
Omar Bazahair, director of refinery and natural gas liquids collection unit at Aramco, said his company aims to cooperate with national companies in the area of water rationalization, protection of the environment and the preservation of natural resources.
