Saudi, Italian trade exchange reaches SAR 54.5bn
Italy’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mario Scialoja said Saudi Arabia has an encouraging investment environment, as the Kingdom enjoys financial and economic stability and the government increases spending on infrastructure, education and transport, according to Al-Riyadh newspaper.
Scialoja added that the trade exchange between the two countries reached nearly SAR 54.5 billion in 2013, and the trade balance between the two states recorded a surplus of nearly SAR 13.7 billion for the Kingdom in 2013.
The Saudi imports from Italy reached 1.1% (over SAR 20 billion) of the revenues recorded by importing countries from Italy in 2013.
The Kingdom’s imports from Italy increased by 16.5% (more than SAR 2 billion) in 2013 compared with a year earlier.
Saudi Arabia’s exports dominated almost 1.5% of the total exports to Italy in 2013.
