Saudi Public Transport Co. (SAPTCO) said, with reference to its earlier announcement about winning a contract with France’s RATP Dev to supply, operate and maintain buses in Riyadh, that the contract was signed on Thursday, November 20 with Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA).
The contract period is ten years, to be preceded by a preparation period of 24 months. The SAR 7.855 billion contract includes supplying a fleet of nearly one thousand buses of various sizes and capacities, manufactured according to the highest international standards.
Under the contract, the consortium will start the operations in the fourth quarter of 2016 in three stages. In addition, it will manage and operate a traffic control center (TCC) in the network which was designed according to the highest international standards.
