Emirates Telecommunication Corporation (Etisalat) has announced in a statement that it stands by its position that there should be a fully independent, comprehensive and high quality investigation by independent and experienced investigators, applying leading standards, to determine the causes that led to the restatement of the Mobily financials.

“Etisalat would unequivocally support the board of Mobily, and any shareholder, in commissioning an investigation that meets these standards”, the Abu Dhabi-based telecom company stated, adding that it considers that the responsibility of all directors and executives needs to be considered after the completion of an independent, comprehensive and professional investigation.

All stakeholders and shareholders, including Etisalat, are to be satisfied with the investigation that has been conducted in compliance with best international practice.

“Until then, Etisalat shall not absolve any director, irrespective of who appointed him, from his liability, nor any executive or employee,” Etisalat concluded.
