Saudi Tadawul loses 1000 points, SAR240bn in seven sessions

Riyadh – Mubasher Exclusive: The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) continued its slide to the seventh successive session, as it closed Monday’s trading at the lowest level not seen since September 12, 2013.
The market lost today 214.16 points, or 2.64% to end at 7904.91 points. Thus, the market widened its losses in seven sessions to 1052.7 points, or 11.75%.
During the seven-day losing run, the market capitalization fell by 12.3%, or SAR 239.8 billion to reach SAR 1.71 trillion, compared with SAR 1.95 trillion on December 4.
All sectors shut in the red territory, led by multi-investment (-7.48%), insurance (-6.99%), and industrial investment (-5.96%). Banks tailed the list (-1.41%), while cement fell by 1.73%.
The petrochemical industries and telecommunications declined by 2.98% and 2.04% respectively.
Eight stocks moved higher topped by Saudi Fisheries (+6.44%), Saudi Airlines Catering (+1.72%) and Tabuk Cement (+0.65%).
Meanwhile, 148 stocks moved lower led by Walaa Insurance (-9.99%), APC (-9.97%) and Gulf Union (-9.97%).
Leading stocks were also down, as Al Rajhi Bank fell by 0.28%, SABIC (-2.74%), NCB (-0.25%), Savola (-3.92%) and Jabal Omar (-1.76%).
Monday’s turnover amounted to SAR 7.07 billion, with a decline by 0.66% from SAR 7.12 billion on Sunday. Meanwhile, traded volume rose 5.3% to 269.5 million shares from 255.9 million shares.
