TASI pares losses at close; turnover hits 1-year low

Riyadh-Mubasher: The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) trimmed its losses on Thursday, falling 0.11% to close at the 9,668 level.

Turnover reached more than SAR 5 billion, the lowest since 29 June 2014 when it reached SAR 4.6 billion. Trading volume amounted to over 154 million shares, exchanged in more than 101,000 transactions.

Rounding up sectors, six advanced, topped by the transport and agriculture sectors which climbed 1.41% and 0.37%, respectively. Meanwhile, nine sectors declined, led by the energy and hotel sectors which dropped 2.31% and 1.43%, respectively. 

As for equities, losers eclipsed gainers 99 to 43. Bupa Arabia was the best performer, jumping 4.65% to SAR 247, followed by Emaar EC which rose 3.51% to SAR 16.20.

On the flipside, SAICO was the biggest drag, falling 5.85% to SAR 27.50. SABB Takaful had the second-worst showing, dipping 5.05% to SAR 45.70.

Alinma Bank was the most active in terms of traded volume and value, after 22.5 million shares were exchanged at a turnover of SAR 543.2 million.
