Riyadh-Mubasher: Sahara Petrochemical Co. said the construction work in the butanol plant is ongoing, and the trail operation is likely to begin in the fourth quarter of 2015.

“It is difficult currently to measure the relevant financial impact because of its relation to the changes in energy prices,” the company added in a bourse statement.

The plant will produce 330,000 metric tonnes of n-butanol per annum and 11,000 metric tonnes of iso-butanol.

The project is equally owned by Sadara Chemicals Co. Saudi Kayan and Saudi Acrylic Acid Co.
