Oman Arab Bank convened a meeting, which was attended by the branches and departments managers and their assistants at the Crown Plaza Hotel — Muscat on September 28. The meeting was chaired by OAB’s Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Kader Askalan, in the presence of the Deputy General Manager of Retail Banking and Operations, Bishara Qafiti.

The CEO opened the meeting with a speech whereby he welcomed the attendees and stressed on the importance of holding such get-togethers to keep open communication channels between them and the executive management. This can help in overcoming the obstacles and challenges that the managers and executives may encounter in their line of work and raise the level of work performance, both internally and externally.

The meeting revolved around several topics whereby the branches managers and the executive management deliberated over ways to develop the quality of services offered to customers and to make such services accessible to all. Another topic addressed the activation of OAB’s online services and cards and the means to enhance the customer services provided online or through the ATM machines located within a network of 63 branches and offices all across the Sultanate. In another respect, the managers and executives outlined the issues that they were facing in all their job areas and the same were further discussed and noted to find solutions. Furthermore, the results of the Bank and its branches were reviewed against the estimated budget and the 2012 results.

In conclusion, OAB’s CEO, Abdul Kader Askalan, gave his closing speech expressing his thanks to the managers and executives for their efforts that contribute to the success of the Bank and the achievement of the desired results. He also pointed out that the improvement of business standards always require seriousness, commitment, problem-solving and close examination of the employees’ work. Only these values would ensure business promotion to the contemplated levels and fulfillment of customers’ needs, according to Oman Daily Observer.
