Long Live Egypt Fund collects EGP2.3 bln in 2 months
After nearly two months of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s call for businessmen to contribute to Long Live Egypt Fund on hopes to collect EGP 100 billion to boost the local economy, businessman Mohamed Farid Khamis, who is among the fund supervisors, said the total contributions to the fund till Tuesday reached EGP 2.3 billion.
A number of investors who announced donations to the fund plan to meet with Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb in early September to provide checks worth their donations, Khamis told El-Watan newspaper.
In a related vein, Mohamed El Sewedy, Head of Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), revealed planning to launch an initiative to collect EGP 1 billion from manufacturers for the fund.
